last saturday, naia had her first performance with her PG-1 classmates. it’s a her daycare’s year end concert and graduation party for the K2 students. as usual, they have a bunch of performances by the students. along with her PG1 classmates, naia was involved in it.

at 9AM, we dropped off naia at tampines regional library where the concert will be held. as instructed, we put her on in her school uniform’s and light make-up. the performance will start at 10.30 until 12PM. after we dropped her off, the teachers will put her on the costume and make-up while we looked for breakfast. knowing that naia hasn’t communicated with her teachers (which we thought because she’s still a bit uncomfortable communicating in english, though she perfectly understands the language), i was a bit worry that naia may not hold her pee that long or during the performance or when she’s already in her costume. so i asked her teacher to put her on a dispo diaper when i dropped her off. turns out, i think naia refused to be put on a diaper and was dry the whole time, until we reached home.
the whole show was guided by two K2 students who was speaking in both english and mandarin. then there was a speech by the branch director followed by the graduation ceremony. there was also a video on all the activities the kids were doing at the daycare, then the performance started. first performance was by PG1 students, naia & her classmates.
funny thing about the performance. for the past few weeks, naia keeps talking about her being a rabbit. so we thought that was for the performance. so even for the halloween party, she insisted that she’d be made up as a rabbit. when i put on the whiskers on her face, she even commented that’s how her teacher did it too. so we thought, she’ll be a rabbit for her performance at the concert.
turns out, no rabbit was even found in the concert. there was a lion and a zebra, but no rabbit! and turns out naia was put on a ballerina costume. haha.. totally not what we expected at all.
surprisingly, naia was a really good performer. even when everyone froze on stage, she was able to go on and followed the song correctly. later on, her teacher told me that she was actually refused to perform during the rehearsals. so the teachers thought that she’d just froze on stage. turns out, whoever was doing good during rehearsals just froze on stage, and naia was the star of the show! she looked so cute in her ballerina costume and make-up. we’re really proud of her!
to show you how she performs, here’s the video we took from the audience during her performance. she’s the one who keeps on jumping in light pink ballerina costume.
enjoy the show!
